Price of 1 USDT in bolivianos, median of the first public ads on each side. Updated Sep 23, 2026 · 23:57.

Two exchange rates, explained

For almost 15 years the boliviano was fixed at Bs 6.86 (buy) and Bs 6.96 (sell). On June 29, 2026 Bolivia adopted a flexible exchange rate. The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) now publishes an official rate (TCO) every business day, based on what banks pay their customers for dollars.

The parallel or blue rate is what people pay outside banks, mostly by trading USDT on P2P platforms. Today it is 1.2% above the official rate.

How we calculate the parallel rate

Every 5 minutes we read the first 10 public USDT/BOB ads on each side at Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget and MEXC. We take the median for each platform, then the median across platforms. Details in about & methodology.

Frequently asked questions

What is the dollar rate in Bolivia today?
The parallel (blue) rate is Bs 12.31 when you sell dollars and Bs 12.41 when you buy them, based on P2P markets. The official rate (TCO) published by the Central Bank of Bolivia is Bs 12.26.
Is the boliviano still pegged at 6.96?
No. Bolivia ended the fixed rate on June 29, 2026. The Central Bank now publishes a daily official rate calculated from the dollar purchases banks make from their customers.
Where should a tourist exchange money?
At banks or exchange houses licensed by ASFI, the financial regulator. Prices must be posted, and when selling dollars they cannot charge more than the official rate plus 10 centavos (Bs 12.36 today).
What is the "blue" or parallel dollar?
It is the price paid outside the banking system, mostly by trading USDT (a dollar stablecoin) on peer-to-peer platforms. We compute it as the median of public ads on Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget and MEXC.
